A recent article featured in the Fashion and Style section of the New York Times explores the topic of using cannabis to treat pets. Pet owners have turned to cannabis-based products to alleviate a host of pet maladies, including arthritis, seizures, inflammation, anxiety and pain. Most have reported similar results. Marijuana-based treatments are being used for turtles, pigs, horses and domesticated wild animals…Not just for cats and dogs!
The FDA has not approved cannabis for pets, in part because there is little research showing its effectiveness, however that hasn’t stopped pet lovers from using and attesting to their efficacy.
